1. Think for yourself (Don’t believe everything you’re told, read or see. (Many Sharkys out there which are people that will say anything to get you to do what they want and many times not good for you). Remember that over time many beliefs that are written about and accepted as true are found to be wrong. Use your instincts to determine what is right for you.
2. If you’re not sure what to do, do nothing! Mistakes are the worst!
3. Your most important possessions are your body and your mind. Don’t let anyone hurt either one if you can.
4. Stay away from places that make you vulnerable.
A) People looking to hurt you usually must get you alone somewhere, DON’T GO.
B) Safety in numbers. If you’re with a lot of people you know well, you are less vulnerable and safer.
C) Being able to run fast is one of the best defenses.
D) Joggers and hikers and walkers sometimes go places that make them vulnerable. If you’re out and you look around and can’t see anyone you are vulnerable. Don’t go there.
E) If someone has a weapon against you RUN. Moving target is harder to hit if you do what they want, you will be in very great danger, Run Run.
F) Screaming very loud will bring attention to what’s happening.
G) If you are being Bullied on the internet do not read the messages. Alert your parents, or someone that can help and or the police. You are a victim. (see # 26)
5. Can do and Should do are not the same. Just because you can do something doesn’t mean you should.
6. What you are is more important than what you have.
7. Live in the Present not the Past.
8. Look up down and all around, always know what’s going on around you (cell phones are a distraction).
9. Strong is better than weak.
10. Friends, must earn your trust, remember friends can change to not being your friend or an enemy.
11. Safety is an illusion, you’re never truly safe.
12. You’re never alone, when things are confusing don’t hesitate to call Family, Mom, Dad, Nana, Pop Pop, Grandma, brothers or sisters, if you can. Don’t be afraid to tell them your problem it’s what they should help you with as being part of your family. If you can’t or they won’t maybe something on this list can help. Also, remember if a family member needs help you should help if you can without hurting yourself.
13. Don’t take on other people’s problems they can bring you down if you let them.
14. Never say anything bad about someone else in writing.
15. Think Positive.
16. The best way to deal with a bad situation is to remove yourself but if you must deal with it, you can make the best of it or the worst of it. Get out as soon as you can!
17. Usually nothing good happens to you after 11pm if you’re out, be careful.
18. Alcohol and or drugs can change your life quickly in a bad way, be smart, be careful.
19. If you have done something you feel is wrong, that you wish you hadn’t, forgive yourself and move on. Don’t do it again!
20. Always do your best if you can, you may not get another chance.
21. You never know what an animal will do for sure, don’t put your face near pet or animal.
22. If you live your life expecting things to change then you won’t be surprised when they do.
23. Don’t give out your cell phone lock to friends.

26. Bullies will say terrible things to you to hurt and shame you. They will lie to all including your friends and family. In rare cases, will use physical violence against you. These are people acting badly and illegally and endanger you mentally and maybe physically. Don’t let it happen! Get help! Do whatever you can to avoid these people.
A) Avoid these people at all costs.
B) If the threats are to hurt you physically call the police. If it’s a text or email, save them to give to the police.
C) They will be less aggressive when other people are watching.
D) Travel different routes.
E) Have a friend or relative accompany you.
F) Self-defense training is always a good idea for all, boys, girls, woman, men (can make you safer) even if you’re not bullied. Your instructor will have some great suggestions for you! There are thousands of karate and boxing schools and probably one that is convenient and affordable for you.
G) Don’t read abusive emails or texts. Change your email address and phone number if necessary.
H) Go live with a relative out of the area for a while or your family can move permanently if possible.
I) Hire a body guard if you can.
· Another Student in your class. Easier than you think.
·***** An upper classmate.
·***** A professional bodyguard (for adults and younger if very serious).
·***** If your child is the one being severely bullied, moving to a new neighborhood might save their life.
27. No one should be asking your personal, religious and political views which are best kept to yourself, if someone is pressuring you to reveal your beliefs don’t give in you’ll probably be sorry maybe very sorry.
28. When someone asks you a question you don’t want to answer, or should not answer, have a standard answer ready. Example: I don’t know”, “I’m working on that”, “Let me think about that”, or “Not sure”, or “I don’t want to discuss that”.
29. Most people in the world are not people you have to worry about, also many really nice people, but, there are many crazy people out there that might look and sound normal as well, they CANNOT be trusted in any way, they can be nightmare bad! Be careful, be cautious !!
30. When you get into a vehicle of any kind (car, boat, airplane, sightseeing vehicle, etc.) that someone other than you is driving, you are trusting that person with your life and the lives of people with you.
31. Traits of that can make you popular.
A) Generally, don’t criticize people.
B) Compliment people.
C) Don’t talk politics or religion.
D) Be light hearted don’t overreact to what is happening at the moment (you can always comment later, taking back something you said is much harder than not making a comment).
32. Your body is always reacting to what you think or do to it or do for it and also put in it.
A) Don’t think you are inferior in some way; everyone has a complaint about their body or life.
B) Work to make your body what you want it to be (amazing what you can change). Never give up!
C) Eliminate stress, being lazy or not doing what you are supposed to do can cause stress. Don’t let any person abuse you or make you feel inferior, watch out for friends.
D) Watch your eating habits
E) Exercise daily (walking is good), body exercises (push ups, etc.), lifting weights.
